With a heavy heart and trembling hands, I pen this tribute to one of Kogi's finest creative minds—Aiyepeku Ayo, a brilliant visual content creator whose impact was loud, yet his lifestyle remained humble and simple.

Ayo was more than just a creator; he was a visionary, a man with a mission to showcase Kogi State to the world through his lens. His works spoke volumes—full of passion, precision, and power. He served the Kogi State Government faithfully, using his God-given skills to project development, unity, and progress. His loyalty was unquestionable, his dedication unmatched, and his creativity top-notch, earning him respect far beyond media circles.

It breaks our hearts that such a light was not just dimmed by accident but brutally butchered—a soul taken from us too soon. This is not just a loss; it is a call for justice. We demand answers. We demand justice for Ayo.

To his family, loved ones, and colleagues, I extend my deepest condolences. May you find strength in the legacy he leaves behind.

As a final salute, I say: Ayo, you will forever live in my heart and in the hearts of all who knew your worth. Kogi State has lost a true son.

KOSEMA, NEMA ENGAGE STAKEHOLDERS ON 2026 FLOOD PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE IN KOGI STATE

The Kogi State Emergency Management Agency (KOSEMA), in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has convened a stakeholders' engagement on flood preparedness and response as part of efforts to strengthen disaster risk management ahead of the 2026 flood seasonal climate prediction by the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET) and the Annual Flood Outlook (AFO) by the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA), which identified Kogi State as high risk and prone to flooding.  The engagement, held under the theme "Strengthening Local Emergency Management Committees for a Resilient Disaster Management in Kogi State," brought together critical stakeholders, including Kogi State Government officials, traditional rulers, Local Government officials, security agencies, humanitarian organizations, development partners, community leaders, relevant ministries, departments, and agencies, and other critical actors in disaster manageme...
