On behalf of management and staff of Kogi State Emergency Management Agency (KOSEMA), I heartily and sincerely congratulate the KOSEMA Board Chairman, Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Elder Salifu Oyibo Joel,  on the momentous occasion of his birthday.
 
Our industrious Deputy Governor,  you have shown efficiency and capacity in the way you have supported the affairs of Kogi State Emergency Management Agency (KOSEMA) so far.

Your undiluted loyalty and genuine commitment towards ADVANCED NEW DIRECTION PROJECT have made Governor Ododo's administration a model and a reference point in Kogi State. 

In addition, I am proud of your exploits and hallmark leadership in adding values to the good governance of the State championed by His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

My earnest prayer is that God grants you more good health, greater wisdom and renewed vigour to continue serving the good people of Kogi State.

KOSEMA, NEMA ENGAGE STAKEHOLDERS ON 2026 FLOOD PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE IN KOGI STATE

The Kogi State Emergency Management Agency (KOSEMA), in collaboration with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has convened a stakeholders' engagement on flood preparedness and response as part of efforts to strengthen disaster risk management ahead of the 2026 flood seasonal climate prediction by the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET) and the Annual Flood Outlook (AFO) by the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA), which identified Kogi State as high risk and prone to flooding.  The engagement, held under the theme "Strengthening Local Emergency Management Committees for a Resilient Disaster Management in Kogi State," brought together critical stakeholders, including Kogi State Government officials, traditional rulers, Local Government officials, security agencies, humanitarian organizations, development partners, community leaders, relevant ministries, departments, and agencies, and other critical actors in disaster manageme...
